Digital preservation policy

Mycological Spectrum is committed to ensuring the long-term accessibility and preservation of its published scholarly content.

All published articles, including PDF files and associated metadata, are permanently hosted on the journal's official website and remain freely accessible to readers.

To safeguard against data loss, the Editorial Office maintains multiple copies of all published content. Digital files, including article PDFs and journal records, are securely stored on the Editor's local computer and are regularly backed up to an external hard drive. These backup copies are maintained to support data recovery in the event of hardware failure or other unforeseen circumstances.

The journal assigns persistent identifiers (DOIs), where applicable, to published articles to facilitate reliable citation, discovery, and long-term access to scholarly content.

As the journal continues to grow, Mycological Spectrum is committed to adopting internationally recognized digital preservation and archiving services, such as LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, Portico, or the PKP Preservation Network, where feasible, to further strengthen the long-term preservation of its published content.

The Editorial Office periodically reviews its preservation practices to ensure the continued accessibility, integrity, and security of the journal's published scholarly record.
